Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Georgetown, SC rental & When to go:

  • In the Georgetown, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Georgetown. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the best Georgetown, SC rental:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Updated home in debordieu steps from the beach access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
