Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Nature Preserve, Great Property for a Getaway! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Georgetown, SC beach you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
