Strategies to get the very best Georgetown, SC vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Georgetown, SC area. To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Georgetown, SC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Custom Decorated Eight Bedroom Home in DeBordieu Colony has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
