Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, change your family's Georgetown, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Georgetown, SC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking the best Georgetown, SC rental home:

  • First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Looking for a cozy villa located next to the golf course? Good Trouble is your answer! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
