- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Georgetown. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Georgetown, SC area:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Just beyond the dunes Water's Edge is a cozy ocean view villa has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
