Getting the best Georgetown, SC vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Georgetown. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Georgetown, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the best Georgetown, SC rental:

  • First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Bungalow at the Bay 3 Bedroom Vacation Home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
