Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the best Georgetown, SC rental:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful Custom Home Overlooking Pond has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
