Our top Georgetown vacation rental booking tips:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Georgetown, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Legasea DeBordieu Home LegaSea Spectacular porches Close to Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
