Georgetown rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. A Retreat to Create Memories for a Lifetime. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC destination you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
