Tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Georgetown, SC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Reserve your Georgetown, SC rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Georgetown, SC area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the rightrental:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Island House Updated DeBordieu Home just steps away from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
