How to get the best Georgetown vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Georgetown, SC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Island House Updated DeBordieu Home just steps away from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
