Tips to get the optimal Georgetown, SC vacation property experience:
When to book a Georgetown, SC rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking the right Georgetown, SC vacation home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Welcome to our stunning oceanfront family beach house has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
