- In the Georgetown, SC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Georgetown, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. BOAT AND PET FRIENDLY HOME LOCATED NEAR SAMPIT RIVER has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Georgetown, SC destination you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
