Tricks and tips to get the very best Georgetown, SC vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your group agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Front Street Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
