Our top Vacation rental tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Georgetown, SC area. Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. DeBordieu Rental Island House beach just steps away from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Georgetown, SC attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
