Finding the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in the Georgetown, SC area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing a perfect Georgetown, SC rental:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Island House Updated DeBordieu Home just steps away from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
