Finding the best Georgetown vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Georgetown, SC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Georgetown, SC area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Looking for a cozy villa located next to the golf course? Good Trouble is your answer! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
