Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Georgetown. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Georgetown, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Georgetown, SC area:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront Elegance, Unparalleled Location
in Debordieu has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. - Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
