Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in the Georgetown, SC area. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Georgetown, SC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Georgetown, SC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Elegance, Unparalleled Location
in Debordieu has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. - Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your home. - Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
