How to book the best Georgetown vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Georgetown, SC area. Reserve your Georgetown, SC rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Georgetown, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Georgetown:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Just beyond the dunes Water's Edge is a cozy ocean view villa has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC beach you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
