Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to book a Georgetown, SC rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Georgetown. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental home in Georgetown:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful 6 Bedroom Home in Deordieu featuring a 6-seater golf cart! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Georgetown, SC beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
