Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Georgetown, SC rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Georgetown. Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Georgetown, SC area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the best Georgetown, SC rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The King George Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
